Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We will be celebrating with my parents and Elizabeth and Zak, who are driving all night from Kentucky to get here. Today Isabella, Mythili and I made pies together. We bought the girls each their own little pie dishes, and they loved helping roll out the dough, filling their pies with apples, and decorating the top crusts with fork designs. They were so proud to have their pictures taken with the pies they had made. I remember making small pies alongside my mother when I was a little girl, so I am so happy to be passing on this tradition.
This year, I am so thankful for my family. I couldn’t have a better family, a more perfect husband, or three more precious girls in the world. And I am so happy that Elizabeth has married the second-best man in the world (no one can beat Bruce), Zak Danks! I know they will be happy together. I am also thankful that I have such a wonderful job where I get to know and develop a close relationship with all of my students. Life couldn’t be better!
